Free Agents

Stupid question, but how to I sign a free agent? I am currently the commissioner of all, and the AI is running all teams. I have many minor league players on the wrong teams, and need to either trade, or release them and then re-sign them to the correct team.

i am pretty sure you need to be commish of specific team to sign free-agent players, but not certain. All you need to do is right click on the players name and a menu should appear with "offer contract" about mid way. Or you can click on player and get his profile up and then on the right side of the screen is "available Actions" and the same menu with offer contract appears.

But if you want to get players on the "correct" team - click on the player to get his profile up and go to editor. Just below "Basic Information" there are two lines with the heading "Team Information, Select New Team". Click on "No League Selected" and change it to what you need it to be "Majors, AAA, etc." the next line says "None (Free Agent)" click on that an you can select which team you want to place him. Wish i could remember who pointed this out to me recently, because it's an incredible tool for me.
