Historical League Reached Present Time Not Adding Fictional Players to Draft

I have a Historical League that has reached current time, year 2016, and it is not adding fictional players to the draft pool. So for the 2016 draft the only players in the draft were the real players from the previous draft that went unsigned. Is there a way to add fictional players to a historical league once you reach present time so you can continue playing in the future? Is this a setting I was supposed to setup when I created the league or is it possible to have it start adding fictional players once you reach the current season?

I think you just have to uncheck the box in the game settings that calls for "bring in real rookies" or something like that.
Uncheck that box, and all the rest of the drafts should be fictional players
