Playing an indy team, can I stop autoplay or get a message when one of my players is purchased?

This baffled me so much that at first I thought it was a bug and the computer was making moves behind my back. When a major league team purchases one of my players, I don't get any notification at all. Doesn't stop autoplay, no message, nothing. I really like the option to purchase players from indy teams, it adds a lot of realism, but if I don't get some kind of notification when it happens it renders the game unplayable as an independent team. There's gotta be something I can do here, right?

I thought it sounded sort of like the situation for minor league managers...but in that case you get a message. No warning whatsoever though. I enjoyed the experience but it was pretty annoying to have your best player suddenly sucked away.

I haven't thought of a helpful setting.
