Goals and Points Leader on 2nd Best Team in League Not Nominated for Hart?
Andrei Svechnikov led the league in goals and points for my team this season - My team finished second in the entire league. He is not even nominated for the Hart Trophy.
How does the nomination process work? |

Only thing I can see is that he had more power play goals and assuming more power play points than the others so maybe that has something to do with it? Im just guessing of course but maybe the game has a much bigger emphasis on 5v5 points. Other than that, I have no idea

Sometimes team strength factors into it. If you have a deep team often times it's tough for a top guy to be recognized as the best player. Often times a player will win it when they are bar none the best player on their team and likely the only reason they are successful. Remember the Hart Trophy is awarded to the "player judged most valuable to his team."

Can you post the full stats for Svechnikov, Eichel, Hughes, and Laine? I can check to see if the formula's being applied correctly. It does take things into account beyond just the basic stats, though (relative Corsi score, for example.)

Sure - I've moved on to the offseason, but it's the last season (2027-28) for each.

The relatively low game rating for Svechnikov probably tells part of the story, I suspect he was playing poorly enough defensively to detract from his voting total. Hughes doesn't have a particularly good one, either, but it looks like he was at least good enough on D that he got some PK time. My guess is he was just a hair ahead of Svechnikov for the final nominee spot. But I don't like that the points leader was completely left out; I think I'm going to have to make a bit of an adjustment to the top scorer a boost when MVP is being determined.
