Why is game srtating in safe mode?

Then cautioning me that it may run slow because it's in debug mode of some sort. When I shut it down I get some kind of log

At the startup screen go to Settings, then Troubleshooting. and make sure the debug trace isn't checked.

OK thanks. That stopped the message, but I'm still getting the log when I exit

Is it the Steam version? It may require exiting and re-starting the Steam client, that log interacts strangely with Steam for some reason.

No, it's the download version. Started happening after uploading the latest version yesterday.

I was never in settings so I don't know how that box got checked. I've unchecked it but still get logs on exit.

Odd, it's not generating an actual trace file with the option turned off, but it's opening the last trace file created when you exit. Something may have gone wrong when we made a change to what gets written in that file, we'll have to have a look at it.

Edit: ah, looks like it can be stopped by deleting the old trace file. If you go into your \debug folder and delete fhm_trace.txt, it'll exit normally without opening anything.
