Rookie Commish Question
Hi All
Relatively long time player, newbie Commish here. I'm in the early stages of setting up an online league and am wondering if there is any work around options relative to the number of teams in a Historical League. I was hoping to start a league with 2 six team subdivisions, but given such a setup never existed, am I out of luck? |

Exactly how historical do you want your league to be?
Not sure what you're trying to recreate, as far as an Historical online league with 2 subleagues / 6 teams each.
Is it because you have a group of 12 wanting to play the game? You could start somewhere in the 1950's/'60s when I believe there were exactly 12 teams each in the American League/National League, and use a pool of teams/players of one or the other, either deleting players/teams from the other league, or letting the AI GMs run the opposite league in parallel with yours. You would probably have to control the player pool in subsequent years if you run your 12 team league in isolation, to keep the available draftees & free agents from containing names from the other league. But still, if following history, eventually, you'd have to add expansion teams, and AI managers, or you'd wind up with more players than teams to play on. I don't know how the game handles this, as I haven't run any historical leagues like this, online or otherwise, although once I get more familiar with the game, I am going to try this feature with a long term historical recreation. |
