saving games in progress
I want to save games so I can get everything configured the way I want it and then save it as, say, Boston Start or something. That way I'm not changing league settings ever time I start a new game. Is this the best way to do that?
I also want to save games periodically so that if I make a big boo boo I can go back. I have messed around with restore but am having a hard time with it. Is that the way it should be done? |

you can save a template of a league or you can make a copy of the backup directory before you play, but after settings fixed to what you want. i mean you can do it at anytime, of course, but for what you want....
you can do that during creation process too. i often make templates as i create at various points. delete them once done except for the final template for league. just in case i screw something up i don't have to start at beginning. i number them with a little description.. "1 basic settings done" "2 minors added" or whatever... once a league is started, i believe this option is under all league functions under 'available actions' or possible while in the 'league structure' area under 'available actions' believe it is an option in more than 1 location. as far as exiting a game and restarting it: first, must save it. then, crash the ootp19.exe process. ctrl-alt-del -> task manager -> right-click and "End Process" not, 'end task', there is a difference. when you reload game it will be at last saved point and anything done after 'saving' will be lost -- good or bad.
