Prospects

I've been playing since 18, and I'm still kind of bad at developing players (so I feel like at least)...

And any prospects that come through my system, that are worth anything, seem to all be top notch defensive players, but lack offensive skills.

I don't know if there is an effective way to scout beyond hiring a good scout... just want to know people's methods for scouting.

With my franchise player retiring, for the first time in 22 seasons, Im struggling for power on this team, and I can't seem to develop any prospects with power, it just seems like everybody is a contact/defensive player.

Managers in the minor leagues have an effect on a player's development. There's a tab where it says relationships and when you click on that it'll say how well that coach or manager develops players at his level. I use this to make sure that my AAA and sometimes double A teams have a guy who focuses on power or even your hitting coaches focus on power in double and Triple-A so they have a couple of years to develop that.
