Why were the historical scenarios removed from FHM5?

The last version I played included some historical challenges to beat (one per franchise including Vegas if I remember correctly).

Is there any reason they are no longer there? Will they make a comeback for FHM6?

Uh, they aren't? They are still very much in FHM 5 and we added more.
