Hi guys:

Known issues in public beta release, March 17:
- 2019 has stint info mssing, so traded players may start on the wrong teams and have only one total stat entry for 2019
- 2019 real transactions are missing IL assignments

Please post any issues with the historical db's here. Players importing multiple times, not importing, crazy ratings, wrong stats or other stuff like this. Spritze and Bigrod will do their best to respond and to fix and issues.

Using the OOTP 21 beta, I am seeing very low ratings across the board when I import historical players from 2020 into a fictional league.

My steps:
- create a fictional league
- go to the league player list and select every player and right-click > delete them
- actions > import historical player
- use player ID troutmi01 and year 2020


The import will succeed, and in the free agents I have a 28-year-old Mike Trout. However, this Mike Trout has very poor ratings:

30/65 contact
45/60 gap power
25/70 HR power
40/65 eye
35/40 avoid K's
20/80 overall

I was expecting the 80 overall Trout you get when you start a 2020 game straightaway.

This is a minimal test case - I had imported a whole list of players from a text file and saw similar results across the board - guys like Scherzer with 20 overall ratings.

Importing using year 2019 produces ratings that make more sense, but of course the ages, stats, and ratings are a year out of date.

I can't get a historical 1871 league to load while selecting base all stats on remaining peak seasons of career and base fielding and pitching on entire career. It doesn't load after the first setup page. It does work if I just leave everything as is. Thanks!

I like to play custom leagues with historical players - usually making a league with all the rookies season of a franchise from 1998-latest (which is know 2019).


So i usually create a MLB league with just AAA and AA then import all franchise rookies with the settings/players attached.


Sure doesn't look like the ratings are always just using the IMPORTED SEASON to calculate ratings. Some examples (see attached):

• Carson Kelley @ 2018 with 13/20 POWER and EYE
• Luke Voit @ 2017 with a 15/20 POWER
• Tommy Pham @ 2015 with 16/20 POWER and 14/20 EYE

Just some Cardinals example but it seems in those cases it just more than just their imported season to calculate rating as all those players breakouts haven't happened yet.

Sorry - i forgot to upload my saved game data files related to ratings of players that have been historically imported by season.
Per Markus' first post i think this classifies as "crazy ratings". Look at Troy Tulo's rookie season of 2007 - those ratings generated from that
season import look more like they are for his last few seasons of his career instead of the stats that generated 3.6 WAR.

2020 is not a historical year. Max is 2019.

So maybe its not a 21 bug but do you agree those ratings above qualify as "crazy"?
Although in 20 Ramon Martinez@1999 had a more reasonable 10/20 power. So
while "the import has not really changed from last year", i am seeing significant ratings changes
for a season import from 20 to 21.


Maybe im not understanding Historical Imports - i thought it only used the stats of the SEASON IMPORTED to calculate ratings?

This happened in 20 too but when I import a historical team, in this case, 2015 Blue Jays, only 4 players show up on the roster. The rest are listed as free agents! And trying to move them over is a pain. Anyway to resolve this!?

When trying to add a player from the historical database, it just freezes.

I have OOTP 20 and it works fine when I do that function.

I went to re-play the 59 World Series in the Historical Exhibition area.

In version 20 the rosters were fine.

But in 21 there are some major roster problems:

Dodgers do not have Chuch Churn available on roster/or reserve. Not even listed.

White Sox do not have Ted Klusewzki (sp) available on roster or reserve.

Jack, I just now tried it. No issues. Churn is with LA and Big Klu with Chicago. Did you, in fact, choose the 1959 World Series from the menu near the top? I'm guessing you set up a Historical Exhibition instead, choosing the year and then the teams. If you click on the menu that reads "World Series", you then just simply choose the year. The teams will already be set up for you.

Wow! Was this setup in version 20? I remember seeing World Series but I never put my cursor on it and saw the years listed.

Anyway...just another high point for OOTP !!! Perfect 59 Rosters !! No need for reserves : )

By the way I put the ball at very slow and I can watch 90+ of the incoming pitch !!!! Splendid !!
