I Might Have To Spam Posts Until I Get a Response
I just looked at the last Quick Bronze Tourney (Bo7) my Buckeyes played in. I lost in the first round in game 7. What do I see? In the final effing game of the round, the AI picked AN EFFING RELIEVER TO START THE GAME!!!!!!!! Did it do that for my opponent? NO. Does my strategy slider allow for an Opener? Its set to NEVER. So WTF am I supposed to do?

1) Probably take a few deep breaths. It's just a game.
2) Recognize every software has bugs and issues. 3) Make sure it's not user error for some reason and send your logs to support.

1. Its just a game. Yes. But I play it because of its quality. I could be playing Football Manager, Or Civ . But I chose to play this. ANd it let me down. So, hopefully the OOTP team don't take your view. Because that would be very dosappointing.
2. Well, Since I've been playing PT since it started three years ago, I've never seen this problem before. So, just saying all software has bugs is an arrogant shrug of your shoulders. 3. Operator error is always a problem. But with the software suddenly making changes out of the blue, I hardly think so. Like I said, I know how to play the game (just not very well). But the bottom line is, if I'm going to research my pitching staff and try to put together what I think is a good plan, only to have the game flip me the bird, makes it not worthwhile to invest the time and effort in the game. And that should be alarming to everyone at OOTP. So thanks for your flippant response.

Did you actually report the bug instead of just threatening to spam the board (which, by the way, is only going to get you banned)?

actually, I need to look up how to do that. But I intend to later tonight. I'm starting a new Career Sim that I need to get started first. And I know that about spam, which, I was just angry so I was spewing. But thanks Syd for respectfully warning me.

The problem might be your 4-man rotation strategy. What I've noticed is, no matter what your settings are, the AI is choosing to start a fully rested bullpen pitcher over a starter at 69% stamina.

Really? You come on here after the issue is addressed by others and try to pick a fight? What are you? Two years old?

I've seen this and had it happen when I used a 4-man rotation. It's why I stopped trying to use a 4-man rotation.
I believe it likely comes back to the fact that the only off days in tournaments come if you finish a series early and other series in that round are undecided. The program seems to accept that a starter can go on three days rest *up to a point* but then needs an extra day, and will use an emergency SP, or a regular reliever if no emergency SP is designated. I've been OK with this because it hasn't made sense to me that simply changing from a 5-man to a 4-man rotation means a pitcher gets back to 100% a full day faster. That feels like an exploit to me, and this is what negates that. Worst, it shows up the most in the later rounds of a tourney because (obviously) in the early rounds fatigue hasn't built up yet. I have seen it in early rounds with low stamina starters though. So I see it as "use a 4-man rotation at your own risk, or go to a 5-man rotation and don't take the chance that this will happen" and I've gone back exclusively to 5-man rotations in tournaments.
