I spent $40 for this?!?! (Roster issues)

So I have played through one month(?), maybe two of a regular OOTP21 GM/Manager season.

About a month or so into it, I keep getting notifications that I have an 'illegal number of foreign players' on one of my Minor league teams.

WFT is this? I can't find any options to change, and have not messed with any of the settings. This is so frustrating. The game is basically a brick.

I'm on a PC, got it from steam. Does any on else have this problem? This really shouldn't be happening on a $40 game, right?

I assume you are playing a standard major league setup?

If so. Do you have a minor team in the Dominican League? (DSL) If you do, check to make sure there are no players assigned to it from outside of the Caribbean area. In otherwords, a DSL team can't have any players on it from the USA or Canada as AI will consider them foreigners and will not allow you to advance until you reassign them.

If you don't have a DSL team, then I have no idea what the problem would be.

ootp is far from perfect, but instead of raging about how much money you spent, ask for help. if you want to look at the exact violation, turn on online mode in your league, go to the commish portal, and click on roster violations

You may need to do this at each level of your leagues.

Could have to do with your Dominican league. I have run into not being able to move players to fill the roster in the DSL and found that the dominican doesn't allow anyone from outside it's country. Even though the players were being moved from the Florida or Arizona Rookie Leagues. They have to be Dominican if they are to be moved there...

Just a thought.

So a bunch of stalwarts chime in to chastise the OP rather than helpfully point him to the database of threads dedicated to solving common (yes this is a very common, annual issue) and game-stopping issues. Oh wait, there isn't any such thread.... Carry on then!

Then at least point the OP to the bugs forum where he can be met by staff who will act surprised and say something like gee upload that and we'll take a look at it for which he will receive a 'thanks' from the OP in return for, eventually, nothing.

If he looked at something like Star Citizen, the OP would probably be surprised about how much coin a games developer can siphon from a player, and even six years later still not being able to provide a playable game of any sort.

OOTP works, but it's sometimes quite easy to accidentally mess something up.

Sure, but you agree then with my other points - that these are long-standing issues which, every year, are treated as something new under the sun. A quick search reveals the shear number of threads opened on this and similar issues.

Nope, but thanks for putting words in my mouth. Yes, they are issues that some users have. No, they are not treated as something new, as evidenced by the fact that five different people gave the OP possible solutions. If it were treated as new, nobody would have suggestions of how to fix the issue.

I'm not sure how to respond to this because I'm honestly not sure what it says. All I know is that others have contributed to this thread. You have not. That's what trolling is, regardless of what you think it is.

You admit a failure at basic comprehension as if it is someone else's fault.

What an adult would do in your situation is say something like - while I disagree with your assessment of the value of this thread I do think it would be a good idea to sticky a thread that addresses these issues that keep coming up.

When was 'ghost playas' (should be 'ghost playas' not 'ghost players') introduced? 1933? Which is the time this issue began becoming an issue. A HOFer ought to know that, chief.
