I know that the 1981 season in the game, which was obviously shortened by a strike, plays out as a full season. Of course, I am not sure what may happen, though, if you set up your league using real transactions/real lineups. I have never played with those options enabled.

It depends.

If you are playing with historical lineups and transactions, it will play out as a strike-shortened season.

If not, you will get the full season.
