Owner Goal: Extend Player

One of my goals is to extend a player, but he’s asking for an outrageous amount and length. Thinking about letting him test the market and just match other offers. Question is do I still get credit for that goal if he temporarily became a free agent and then I re-signed him?

The owner evaluates you at the end of the season. So if they are extended at that point then you are good to go.
