Wildcard

That one game wildcard game needs to be changed to a three game series.

I had a team that won 102 but lost the title by 1 game. (It went down to the final game) So I got the wildcard and lost. Another team won 101 for me and won their WC spot and had to play the division winner.

Change it in 22!

This is working as designed, and rightly so. This year's three-game wild card series was put in as a temporary, emergency response to the covid-shortened regular season. PT and vanilla OOTP21 use the rules as they were written for the 2020 season before covid, hence a single wild card game. They should not "fix" the wild card series any more than they should "fix" the schedule length to make it 60 games. If the rules change for next season, PT and OOTP22 will accurately reflect them, as they always do.

That may apply in 21, but what about 22?

The 2017-2021 collective bargaining agreement specifies 10 playoff teams and a single wild card game in each league. There were several temporary amendments for the covid emergency this year that are no longer in effect. Some amendments were made before the season restarted, and some (like playoff bubbles and no off days) were made during the season. PT and OOTP21 were released before the emergency amendments were made, and there was no compelling reason to change PT gameplay midseason. You can recreate the 60-game season with 16 playoff teams playing three-game wild card series in the OOTP base game. But PT reflects the 2020 season as MLB would have played (and started playing in Spring Training) before covid hit. If covid canceled the season, should PT have stopped too?

You make it to the Perfect league there are 8 teams in each Confernce that make the playoffs. Wildcard round best of 5.

Good luck making it to that level !!!

Would you be happier with a 3 game series where you win the first game and lose the next two?
