D-subs don't enter game
D-subs should enter in the 9th inning leading by 3 runs or less, but they don't. I'm sure this used to work just fine, but no longer does.
I have Lloyd playing SS I want him to move to 2B and Wells to play SS in the 9th inning. How should I set it up? (Note: I've tried placing Wells as d-sub at SS and Lloyd at 2B, that doesn't work either.) (Lloyd also doesn't come in as d-sub even if Wells is the starting SS) I have Henderson not playing, but listed as pinch runner in situations where the game is TIED in the 9th inning. He doesn't come in as D-sub for RF either. |

Henderson is coming in as d-sub, but the move of Lloyd to 2B and Wells replacing him at SS definitely doesn't work. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

In the above case, you would at least also need to specify Wells as the D-sub at SS for it to work. Want to presumably set those for both vsL and vsR as well so it makes sure to check that depending on who's on the mound late too.

Thank you for taking the time to answer. I did as suggested, for both RHP and LHP to no avail. The middle infield wasn't affected, but the outfield had the weird result of moving the starting RF to LF and bringing in the RF backup exactly the way I would like it to work in the infield. Except, the RF d-sub was not used! What else could I be doing wrong?

I think there are some cases where it may not run the swap unless if the change is actually better enough, so there's a chance that could be happening here if the Lloyd/Wells duo isn't actually better than Jackie/Lloyd. Not entirely sure that is here, but given how close it is between them all, that's possibly at play here.

Thanks, again. Certainly Robinson is better than Wells as a hitter, but defensively, Lloyd's range is 108 vs. 92 for Robinson and Wells is also 108.
Lloyd 2B rating is 114 compared to Robinson 118. Also, buggy is the AI choice in the OF. Gwynn moves from right to left to and is replaced by the backup starter in RF, Clemente, instead of the D-sub Henderson. Clemente range 92, Henderson range 98, although Clemente is rated 124 in RF compared to 110 for Henderson. Your theory that my decisions are not accepted because of the overall defensive rating looks to be true. In any case, I hope to see MY decisions remain paramount, however faulty, in future versions of the game. |
