New Fictional-Historical League needs 1 GM
The Mythic Baseball League needs 1 GM to run the Pittsburgh franchise.
The league will be an "out of the box" type of league - fictional with a historical flavor, and will start with the 1886 season. If you think you might be interested, please check out the league's rules here. The league had a 10-season pre-sim to generate some history. The general theme of the league is we have two competing, eight-team "major leagues" that are each trying to drive the other out of business. The out of the box thinking comes into play with mechanisms for folding teams. If this happens you are not out of the league, but will simply get a new team. There is more detail on this in the rules that are linked above. If you have any questions, please feel free to post here or send me a private message. Thanks for checking out the league!

If you've been following the Figment related posts on the dynasty board, this is pretty much the same group of GMs. Figment has been by far the best OOTP on-line experience I've had. And I've been really looking forward to Mythic. To have a solid, no-ratings league in the 19th century has been a long time dream of mine. This should be a fun ride.

Figment is the league that got me hooked on online play and Mythic will be just as much fun. Great commissioner who doesn’t run a team but rather just oversees the league and a fantastic core group of GMs who are very active and always glad to assist newcomers.

Agree with the previous posts. Figment has been and continues to be fun. The slack board is always active. The GMs are competitive but helpful. The commish is the best. I had never played stats only before, but it adds a lot to the online experience as everyone has their own ideas of player values rather than looking at stars.
Mythic will be more of the same. Again Joe will be commish only which allows him to make changes for the best of the league and add in surprises for us GMs. With all the help you'll get this league can be for the experienced or first time online player. |

Have to add my two cents. I got my start in online OOTP league play in one of our commish Joe's leagues - Dugout Wizards - some time ago. I've been in a lot of great leagues, but none have been any better than anything Joe runs. He's such a great commish who really cares about the league experience. And we have such a great core of GMs that are just a pleasure to compete against. But I'll echo that the competition is very real and challenging, but it's all very collegial as well. Advice is freely given and I've improved my teams and my GM abilities along the way.
Read the rules and if it at all seems like something you'd enjoy, join up now! You will not regret it. |

Thanks guys!
We do have a great group of GMs and that certainly is a big reason why Figment is so successful and why I think Mythic will also be a great league. We did find the GM we needed for Pittsburgh. However, I would encourage anyone interested in participating to let me know. We have several independent minor leagues that include clubs in potential major league markets like Milwaukee, Cleveland, Detroit and others. It is entirely possible one or more of these independent clubs could graduate to the big time. I know this is a unique setup and that stats only doesn't appeal to anyone (we do have potentials on, with a 1-5 scale, so you're not entirely blind), but based on the success of Figment, I would be surprised if Mythic doesn't turn out to be an absolute blast. And that'll end my sales pitch!
