Face Gen not working/ No 3d options in game

new game, when i go to file>settings>3d and facegen and enable it, it always reverts back to disabled when i close the game and restart to get the settings to take affect. ( i am saving first). Also in game, i dont have a 3d options with graphic animations, only the 2d options with text only. what am i missing here? id appreciate any help

When you are in the settings section after you enable, make sure you click reset before you click save. That MIGHT take care of it.

It's also possible your video card drivers need to be updated to correctly support the level of OpenGL needed for facegen, so you might want to give that a shot.

i was afraid it might have something to dowith the cpu im using. it is an ooooold laptop. i dont even know how to update the drivers... anyhow, i thought reset, just makes it reset back to default settings.

So I updated my video drivers and the setting retained after changing face gen/ 3D on. However whenever I try to look at a player profile or play a game ,the game crashes
