Expansion
I am sure this has been discussed at great length around here, however I am not great with the search feature ...
I have a plan to expand my MLB by 4 teams in a couple of seasons ... I have done this with just two teams before ... is there any thing I should do differently with a 4 team expansion? I was thinking of decreasing the expansion draft to 20 rounds instead of 25 and extending the protected list to maybe 30 ... any advice would be most helpful ... even if its just a link to somewhere else in the boards ... also I generally expand the league on the first day of the offseason. is there a better time to do this? |

Does not answer your question regarding number of rounds for the expansion draft but this is a great read and what I plan to follow when I expand my game from 30 to 32 starting this offseason.

What cities have you chosen for the new teams?

Setting the size of the protection list requires consideration of how many teams there are versus the number of expansion teams and how many players if any are automatically protected by the less than three years of service rule. However protecting more than the ML roster plus the less than three years players sounds like the way to 40-122 expansion teams regardless of the existing team count.
