Game crashed, can't reopen app on Mac

OOTP crashed in the middle of a live game, and now I get an error message when I try to load it that says:

"Error: OOTP found that the crashed_on_startup flag is set. Obviously the game crashed when you started it last time. OOTP will reset the graphics to default values. You can set them back later in the Game Preferences dialog."

At that point, I click "Close" (only available option), and a new message from Apple pops up telling me "OOTP Baseball 25 quit unexpectedly."

I have tried redownloading the app - no luck.

Please advise!

EDIT: It works now. No idea why.
