1981 season with strike

hi everyone, i asked this question once before but I lost what the answer was so please forgive me for asking again.

I'm looking to play the 1981 season with the strike and the expanded playoffs and all of that. How can I do that? Is there a way to simulate it?

Load the 1981 as played schedule. It has "ap" at the end of the file name.

For the playoffs the '81 format was similar to the format that was implemented for the '95 postseason, so you could do that by going to game Settings > League Settings > Options and editing the playoff structure at the bottom right. What I don't know if you can do is implement the split-season component of real-life '81...

thanks. sorry to be a pain but I'm very un tech savvy hah. is that supposed to be a link because it wasn't working and i couldn't find it in the "schedules" section of the game's files on my hard drive

In the game go to league settings then options. On the right is a box with a button next to it that will display schedules. Scroll until you come to the one named major_league_ml_c_1981_ap.lsdl and select it.

League Settings, Options, top right Edit League Schedule, Actions, Import from file and then select the schedule Brad listed. You have to do this is preseason.

If you're starting your league in 1981 another option would be to create your league with Use Real Lineups/Use real Transactions. Then once league is created, you could turn those options off. OOTP will load the 1981 as played schedule if you have real lineups selected.

Hi there, I hate to bring up an old thread but I am finally getting around to doing this and I can't find rhe "edit league settings" part in the top right. Am I missing something here?
