Baltimore (33-31) takes the first game of the three game series easily 13-3 from the New York Enforcers (23-41).
The Blue Claws scored 9 runs in the top of the 6th inning bringing 12 men to the plate.
The big blow was a 3 Run opposite field home run from CF Wilbert McCarthy (30 yr old).
McCarthy is starting to heat up. He now has 16 HR on the season to lead the team by far.
You can't blame New York Starter Norm Quinn. The young starter pitched well, however he looked tired as he started the 6th. After walking the first two batters he was finally pulled.
In comes the NY bullpen and you can guess the rest.
Baltimore's Starter Bernardo Gutierrez did his job as the righty gets the win throwing 6.0 innings giving up 3 hits, 2 earned and a couple of BB and K's.
Martin Crossingham gets an easy save going 3 innings, however he did give up 5 hits and a HR to soft hitting Willie Price. Martin did K 3 and didn't give up a walk.
In the last 2 games the Blue Claws have only had to use 3 total pitchers which really has helped an overused bullpen.
