Houston Sams & Some Further Notes

I finished off another logo tonight, one I had been tinkering with for a while: the Houston Sams. It contains a small visual joke as the font for "SAMS" resembles the font for "SPAM". Along with this logo, I thought that I would highlight a couple others that I previously uploaded to Photobucket. The logos for the Memphis Kings & Las Vegas Neons are my two favorite creations thus far.

A few miscellaneous notes on the other teams and logos.
A few miscellaneous notes on the other teams and logos.
- The Hollywood Stars were, of course, an old Pacific Coast League team. I try to come up with original or semi-original nicknames, but the Hollywood Stars is just one of those nicknames that, in my mind, can't be improved upon.
- Charles Shultz was born in Saint Paul, so I decided to name the Saint Paul team after Charlie Brown's team, but I quickly discovered a bit of trivia: in the entire run of Peanuts comics, Charlie Brown's baseball team was never named. So instead I just named them the Saint Paul Chucks.
- The other team names are pretty self-explanatory: Oakland Acorns, Silicon Valley Hackers, and New Orleans Armstrongs (after Louis Armstrong). The city of Louisville was named for King Louis XVI (best known for being executed by guillotine), and King Louis was of the House of Bourbon.
