The Jays fell to #23 on the Weekly Power Rankings. The Rangers have clinched the AL West. In the AL East, the Tigers lead the Orioles by six games. The NL is much more up in the air with the Cardinals and Braves leading their divisions, but both have three teams trailing them, still in contention. |

While we knew Lawrence Leverett was almost certainly out for the season, it turned out to be much more serious for him.
He has a torn meniscus. It will be a rough offseason for him, but he should be ready to go before Spring Training. |

We would REALLY like to get Carlos Delgado, but Shawn Green is also in there. The Mock Draft has us getting Rondell White, but Green is still available then, so we would probably take him. Delgado looks to lo 2nd, behind Chipper Jones. The Expos have both picks. |

Some AAA Retirements, including a pretty big one.
Robin Yount played 18 years in the Majors - 6 with Milwaukee, followed by 8 with Toronto, then 5 with the Dodgers. His beat season was 1982, with the Jays, where he was named MVP In 1985 and 1986 he got World Series rings with Toronto. Four All-Star Appearances and one Silver Slugger. Future Hall of Famer. He signed a minor league deal with Toronto back in May after he was released by L.A., but he couldn't climb back. Jeffrey Howard played parts of five seasons in the Bigs, mostly with the Cubs. He came from the Pirates to the Jays in 1992 - the same trade that brought Dean Palmer and Rheal Cormier. He appeared in three games with the Jays this year. Ed Robinson never made the Majors after 10 years in the minors. He joined the Jays organization just this past year. It is a similar story for Dan Lovell, though he was six years in the pro ball. He came to the Jays in a trade from the Cubs back in '89. Jose Alvarez had a five year pro, minor league career, He came to the Jays in a trade with the Mets. |
