Going into Spring Training, the Jays are being called the Most Improved team this offseason.

Juan Guzman's inaugural season was cut very short and he wants a do-over this year. He pitched very well but it was a home run by minor league signee Angel Lara that cemented the 2-1 Blue Jay win over the Rangers to open Spring Training.

Jim Abbott pitched five scoreless innings, sending the Jays on their way to a 2-1 win over the Brewers.

The Toronto runs came off homers by Eric Davis and Santiago Canseco.

The Jays were trailing but a 3-run homer in the 7th by Santiago Canseco set up Jesus Matos for a 9th inning RBI single and a 4-3, walk off win over the Orioles.

Today the Tigers shut out the Blue Jays, 4-0.

Wes Sweet left the game with a herniated disc in his back. He will likely rest for a week.

The homers came from John Valentin, Lorenzo Hernandez, and Keith Mylne.

Dave Summers did not allow a hit until the 4th inning. But in the 5th he gave up four runs on five hits. The Brewers beat the Blue Jays, 4-2.
