For those using Comcast XFininity, its a bit harder. So I gave up on that.

The good news is, I updated my RealTek driver (not sure that did anything) and then rebooted my router. Both together solved the issue for me. So try rebooting your router. That might work for you, too.

Tried that, still does not work; I give up.

I can confirm that this worked for me.
Install Opera, enable vpn, then start the game.

Interesting...
Tried last night with my own VPN provider (Private Internet Access) using many different VPN servers with no success.


Just downloaded and installed Opera and enabled their VPN.


And it worked. Right into Perfect Team.

Any update for those of us who still cant play even with the Opera fix?

We got word from them the fix should be fully live in all regions. Have you tried this morning to log in?

Still cannot connect. Steam, tried both 20 and 21. I've reinstalled both last week, should I try reinstalling again?

Did you enable the VPN in Opera setup?
By default it is off after installation.

Start Opera go into settings and enable the VPN.

I'm pretty sure steam connects through it's own system, not through a browser. I did install Opera all the same, and enabled VPN but it didn't help

Update: I went thru settings on Opera again, apparently I did not set up vpn correctly, it was off. I turned it on, OOTP started up. I guess I need to leave Opera running in order to load the game? I hope there is a real fix sometime soon. Thanks everyone

Two things, first if you enable Opera VPN ALL your internet usage uses VPN until you turn it off. Then nothing uses VPN.

Second, as mentioned above, if you are on Comcast/Xfinity, you need to make additional changes to your system to get Opera VPN to work. So Opera is not a simple fix for those of us using Comcast.
