Other than Dylan Crewes and Paul Skenes, the most likely first two picks, the Tigers will have a lot of talent to choose from. The draft is loaded with hitters that have either proven themselves in college or dominating high school ball.
With all that said, since the Tigers are going to have to start winning soon, I think they should go with a college hitter like Wyatt Langford (from UF). There are a few high school outfielders, Jenkins and Clark, who probably have a higher ceiling and hit from the left side, but come with higher risk being straight out of prep school. Whereas Langford would be a consensus top pick any other year, if a certain two other players (see beginning of post) in his conference weren't around. And I think he'll be MLB ready much sooner than the others, which again, the Tigers have to start considering soon.

I think you have to go Langford here. I know the prep stars, Clark in particular, get a lot of buzz but you just can’t predict a prep star being MLB ready in 2 years. That is incredibly hard to do and the Tigers need to start getting better quicker so one of the best college bats in the draft seems like an obvious choice to me.
In other notes this team is a total pretender in a bad division but as we sit at Memorial Day they are a game under even and one game out. They are a fun team to watch compete and that is all I wanted from this group. I have been very critical of Hinch in the past but he seems to be working much better under the philosophy that Scott Harris brought. I already love the baseball draft but this year I’m super interested in seeing who Harris takes.
