Not only him! Four base runners in seven innings is usually not enough. Especially when none of them finds the outfield grass.

Disappointing performance in DC. if they can't get right with six against KC and Chicago then they just can't get right.

39 LOB over the last 4 games. Call me crazy but that seems like a problem.

So, Lenny Faedo's nephew has been getting the job done for Detroit, huh?

Note to Mets: check to see if Lenn Sakata has any second cousins you can use to fill in the staff.

I don't know that he is getting any job done per se but he has looked a little less like a gas can in search of a match of late.

With the MLB draft around the corner, what do y'all think the Tigers will do? Who do you want the Tigers to pick? Should they take the best player available or build more depth somewhere?

Other than Dylan Crewes and Paul Skenes, the most likely first two picks, the Tigers will have a lot of talent to choose from. The draft is loaded with hitters that have either proven themselves in college or dominating high school ball.

With all that said, since the Tigers are going to have to start winning soon, I think they should go with a college hitter like Wyatt Langford (from UF). There are a few high school outfielders, Jenkins and Clark, who probably have a higher ceiling and hit from the left side, but come with higher risk being straight out of prep school. Whereas Langford would be a consensus top pick any other year, if a certain two other players (see beginning of post) in his conference weren't around. And I think he'll be MLB ready much sooner than the others, which again, the Tigers have to start considering soon.

Tigers to add an advertisement patch on their uniforms.

It's the Michigan-based supermarket chain, Meijer. I was just telling my wife the other day how happy I was the Tigers didn't have an ad on their sleeve.

A problem would be ten LOB, with the same number of runs scored. Give them time..no substitute for getting on base.

Still not a fan of a jersey patch on the Tigers' home uniforms, But as patches go, the Meijer one isn't horrible. It's fairly low key and at least Meijer agreed to use Detroit's colors so it would blend better.

I would go with offense too. Plenty of solid outfield bats to choose from. No need to take a 1st round flier on an arm.

Every time they get to two games under .500 they lose. C'mon, boys! You can do this!

Dozen up, dozen down, can't wait to see how this one turns into a smoldering heap of nothing.

17 up and down before giving up a hit. I can't imagine how blowing a no-hitter or perfect game could knock the wind out of your sails.

: Old man rant :

It bothers me when players wear attire that doesn't match the team's colors. Bright yellow today. Bright green the other day. Javy wore red a game or so ago.

(Gavin Phonebooks hits bases-clearing double)

(puts paper bag with crudely cut-out eye holes over his head to not get recognized and/or beaten up)

Thanks, Tigers, for making Joe Kelly slouch off with the corners of his filthy mouth hanging towards Kentucky. I liked that!

I don't understand Joe Kelly. With the Cardinals, something seemed ... off. The dude has issues, and they're not good ones.

Nice day for the Short family. Zach had a home run in the Tiger's win yesterday while his younger brother Brady's team (Central Connecticut State U) won the NEC championship.

I had assumed that Short would go when Carpenter returns but it looks like Ibanez will more likely be the one to go down.

Good start from ERod and a nice team effort yesterday. Exciting to be in a place where a series win will get them to .500 - Texas is going to be rough.

Go Tigers

I think you have to go Langford here. I know the prep stars, Clark in particular, get a lot of buzz but you just can’t predict a prep star being MLB ready in 2 years. That is incredibly hard to do and the Tigers need to start getting better quicker so one of the best college bats in the draft seems like an obvious choice to me.

In other notes this team is a total pretender in a bad division but as we sit at Memorial Day they are a game under even and one game out. They are a fun team to watch compete and that is all I wanted from this group. I have been very critical of Hinch in the past but he seems to be working much better under the philosophy that Scott Harris brought. I already love the baseball draft but this year I’m super interested in seeing who Harris takes.
