MLB 2006 Complete League--100% Accurate League

After checking a few things out, I was not happy with the accuracy of the default league(s), and more specifically the minor leagues. There were quite a few mistakes in the minor leagues with length of season, number of games, correct division names, correct teams in divisions, correct number of teams, playoff games and formats,etc...

I corrected all mistakes, but there are a few things to note.

1) Due to the way the game is setup, some leagues are still not correct. Any league with an odd number of teams in the sub-league had to have a team added to it to make it even(in the default teams were taken away, so the Arizona League went from having 9 teams like it should to having 8. Now it has 10). Unfortunately there is no way around this, its a coding issue. I thought it would be better for the league(s) to have an extra team than to take a team that actually exists and remove it. I think this only affects 3 leagues off the top of my head(Arizona League,GCL, and one other one...) I balanced it so that the extra team is affiliated with a team that has only 6 minor league teams(now they have 7), which gave them 7 like many other teams had.

2) Some league rules are not able to be included because of limitations, such as player age limitations or player nationality limitations.

3) Some league playoff formats are still not correct due to a lack of options included. For instance, one league has a split season and has the 2 division winners and 2 wildcards from each half of the season playing in the playoffs. Since there is no way to include this, I did as close as possible to what it is. Also corrected the formats as in almost all minor leagues, the playoff formats were wrong.

4) Fixed All Team Names to coincide to actual team names and nicknames.

5) Changed All Team and League Logos to correct logos. This was a huge time consumer, but well worth it. The only league I couldn't find were the Cuban League and the Nippon Ni-Gun Minor League in Japan. All other leagues have all correct logos for all teams as well as the league itself.

6) Added Player Photos. Included over 30,000 players so there are a wide variety of pictures. This saves lots of time adding and changing photos.

7) I did not Add The Arizona Fall League...If Anyone Would Like to add this feel free...it consists of 6 teams that play 32 games each. It's a winter league...

This is a large file, mainly because of all the players added and the logos as well. However, I think it is well worth the download... I will be posting it at the perfect game later tonite, as i had to break it up into smaller files and i cannot wait for it to finish....zzz's are needed

It will be up later tonite, I still have to upload the files to the site...sorry about the wait, but I spent like 15 hours on this yesterday and I just had to go to sleep after finishing the last player file since it was almost 5am and I am up now to go to work...

Look for a post around 9PM or so with the link--sorry for the delay, but again its a very big file and I had to break it into 3 pieces...

a rar file is like a zip file. It compress a file or set of files under a set of rar files. I believe Winzip works with rar files..I use winrar (http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm). As soon as he posts all of the rar files in the set, download and save each of them in the same directory. Then Urar all of the baseball files by clicking on the part one rar (extract to the OOTP2006 directory)....

What I did was to just change the affiliations for the Arizona League and the Gulf Coast League. In my universe all the MLB teams have 6 minor league affiliates. What I actually did to, to add a little creativity was to create fictional teams for the AZ League and moved the Gulf Coast League to the Northern Plains. Truthserum did up some great logos and they are located in the logo mod forum if anyone is interested.

And if anyone is interested, there's a program called zipgenius. It's free and you can unzip all the formats. Best zip program I've seen.

No, I have not touched the rosters, but all the teams, nicknames, logos, leagues, league formats etc are 100% correct(as much as they can be due to some limitations). I also added over 30,000 player photos(both fictional and actual photos from various photopacks) so you would not have to worry about adding them, which can be quite tedious and time consuming.

I also added the Venezuelan Summer League, which is for players of latin american descent and has i believe 11 teams. However, 2 of the teams are combines teams(I believe the VSL White Sox/Orioles, and one other team is a combined team). I had to seperate these teams to make it realistic as there is no way to do this with the teams in this. Unfortunately, again due to limitations with the game, there were a few leagues that I actually had to add an extra team to(sub leagues cannot have an odd # of teams). The only other option was to remove teams that actually existed, and that was just not acceptable. Seeing that there were several teams that only had 6 minor league affiliated teams, while most had 7, I took 3 of the teams with 6 and gave them a 7th... I believe this affects the GCL, AZL, and VSL...all rookie leagues. The teams I added are named Cape Coral Royals(GCL), Yuma Diamondbacks(ARI), and I don't remember the VSL team...The uploads should be ready to go within the next 30 minutes...upload 2 is almost complete...

I also have found a new favorite team...the Montgomery Biscuits, which feature a smiling biscuit as their mascot(I am not joking...it's an actual team in one of the A leagues--I think maybe the southern)...

For those who just want the league/league logo files, I will be releasing just a logo pack that is broken down into all the leagues.

For those that just want a player facepack, I will be releasing a compilation of already named player photos to add directly to the league.

PS: I guess I really can't say its 100% accurate...
There are things beyond my control as far as league formats, playoff formats, etc that are just not included as an option in the game. Maybe I should re-phrase that as it is as accurate as I can get it with the current limitations :P
