Had to remove 2006 from my hard drive..

I've had crashes with every fictional league I have created (5). With my crashes my games would not even reload, just crashed again each time I try to restart the game. This means if I want to play, I have to create a whole new game (league) and start again on Jan 1st. I just now deleted the entire game from my hard drive through windows. I wish I was more adept at how to communicate these problems I am having to you guys but I just don't know how to do that. I will say that all my crashes happen while in autosim mode. I just wish I could read these damn error messages. They all look like Chinese to me. Something must be corrupted because as I said above the league will not reload after that. I click on "Continue Game" and the error message appears as the game tries to boot up. " Error has been detected, must close...etc". I read here where people have had crashes but none that cause the same problems I have had. I would like some advice if you could give it. My plan is to set tight until a patch comes out. I will then unzip the game back onto my hard drive, load up the patch and try again. Does this sound like a good plan for me? I know you guys are real busy and I hope you have time to respond with at least some words of encouragement. BTW, I have a nice machine, 3.2 Ghz and 2gig RAM.

have to tried a new download and install? maybe something got corrupted along the way?

Good idea. Can I download the file again without paying again??? I would like to try that.

yes. you can d/l and install as many times as need as long as you have your license #.

just make sure to uninstall, delete the folders, and the old install file.

Uninstall / reinstall is a very good, last resor troubleshooting step for a Windows program that is giving you fits.

HELP!! This may be my last chance.
I uninstalled all Files I could find under Sports Interactive.
I removed my old download of the 2006 installer.
I went to OOTPs website and downloaded the install zip file again to my document file.
I have my activation code handy.
I unzip the 2006 files with the shortcut on my desktop.
Double click the shortcut and the game begins loading.
Then...ERROR!
"GUI_SKIN::get_font_image-invalid font."
Oh my god.
I click ok and the opening page comes up, but with no fonts.
I click on the button I know to be "create new game".
Then...ERROR!
NATION::import_flag_image-invalidto move down into nation_flags directory.
I redid everything several times.
Even downloaded the zipfile again from the OOTP web site.
HELP PLEASE!!

Usually, when you have a GUI_SKIN error try choosing reload skin from the game menu.

OK. this time it worked. I got the game back. I think I'll just cool it for a while until the patch comes out. WHEEEEEw
