CPU Free Agent Signings...delayed until start of season
(Sorry if this has already been posted)
Still simming through my first season in the new game...but I noticed that I pretty much had free reign over signing Free Agents prior to the start of the season. I.e. Using the default start date for a new league...(2/1 I believe), I basically had two months to make offers to Free Agents without any competing offers from the CPU-managed teams. I put together a great squad and got some bargains...but it just didn't feel right...and once the season started on 4/1, there were a flood of FA signings by CPU teams. Seems like an easy fix, I'm sure Patch 1 or 2 will fix it!

This happen in previous versions of OOTP too.
I hope they fix it too. For now, just don't sign any free agent until the Season starts. Because of now its too easy to grab all the good free agents before the AI teams. |

No, it didn't happen this badly in previous versions.
I started a new league without a fantasy draft and the computer controlled teams signed no free agents whatsoever until the first day of the regular season, when they signed 15 of them. Beyond the problem of no competition with human controlled teams for these signings, the players missed spring training. Free agency clearly isn't meant to work this way. |

Yeap I have the same problem. I was wondering why the computer wasn't signing anyone. Still in spring training now I feel guilty for signing some players lol.

This is a big one. Bump to make sure that it is recognized.

Yes, I am having this problem too. It also makes matters worse in my league since I have a AAA independent league that starts early. All the studs in the FA pool end up signing there then and not the big league because that is the only league offering them a contract.

Any word from the testers or anyone that this issue has been logged and is being examined, at least? This is a fairly critical one, so I just want to make sure that it isn't being overlooked.

Markus did say that the problem with the AI not signing amateur free agents is fixed. I don't know if this applies to a more systematic AI signing problem, though I personally am not aware that one exists (that's mainly because I've done so little simming and what I have done has been very focused). I would expect the patch will handle offseason free agency much better. That's about all I can say personally.
