battist, the answer I was hoping for was "yes you can solve it yourself by editing "NYY to NYA" in XYZ location one time" or "No, the only place to edit it, is in each league with each team, everytime it comes up."

Yeah, unfortunately, I don't think there's anywhere to edit this particular value. The abbreviations used by the game for the "standard leagues" are hard-coded in the game.
