Thumbs down Unplayable Game, So Frustrating

This is getting ridiculous, i can't play any game that involves clicking on any news in the game without getting an error message.....imported game...no, historical game....no, fictional league....no. Before i downloaded the patch it was working fine, so i thought....so i tried to install the game without the patch and same thing.....i've installed the game numerous times and i'm about ready to just give up and go back to 6.5 and at least play a game that is playable....What the heck is going on? Anyone else getting this issue

I have owned the game since day one (PC version) and I have yet to get a CTD and I've only encountered one error. My guess is that you may have installed the game while running an anti-virus, firewall, or some sort of anti-spyware.

Best thing to do is post a screen shot of the error you are getting. if you are getting different kinds of them then post everyone you get, or at least type in the errors you are getting. You simply just saying that you are getting errors doesn't help.

If you do not know how to post a screen shot, do this;

When the error message pops up, leave it. Then hit the "print screen" button on your keyboard. Then open up the screen shot with any paint program. MS comes with one. Save it as jpeg. Start a post and go to "manage attachments" and then upload it. If you cannot post a screen shot for some reason then at least type in the exact error you are getting.
Once Markus actually knows what types of errors you are getting it makes it a LOT easier to find out what is causing the problem(s).

Did you have any problems during installation of the game? During one test build I had the same errors coming up because the installation didn't complete properly. Have you tried uninstalling the game, deleting the folders from the hard drive and doing a clean install?

I'm surprised by the uneven-ness of playability. I've had the game since last week and have simmed about 40 seasons and clicked around the entire game. I've yet to have a crash.

I wonder what's different....

I was able to say the same as you, until yesterday. I have spent hours reading about all the crashes and lockups players have had. I wondered why I had no problems?

Then all hell broke loose. I went to save my game as a Quick Template I believe it is called, and it locked up at saving the Box Scores. My settings are to save NO Box Scores. My season stopped working well from then on. I removed the game until it is better patched. I won't spend hours on a game only to lose it all in a moment. I also own MVP 2005, Mogul 2007, Puresim 2007, and the previous version of OOTP 6.5. So I have baseball games that will play well. As of right now, this one is NOT in that category. Yes the patch was installed.

If the crashing doesn't get you, the AI bugs will.

I so wish I could get my money back on this.

I think they can probably salvage this POS, but it is highly unprofessional to have released this game in this state.

I will never buy another SI game until the forums are clear to partly cloudy. I would rate the current forum state as a cat 3 hurricane.

What is your screen size set at and do yu have any toolbars? Try playing in full screen mode as opposed to windowed mode.

Glad to have helped.

The Arod/Lahman thing is theological. I use both. If you really want to figure out what is best, try both. Or, get a Catholic priest, a Jewish rabbi, a Lutheran minister, and Mikey the Life Cereal kid and discuss it.
