1927 Yankees have nothing on Kansas City!!!

The Yankees of 1927 or any batting order for that matter have nothing on my Kansas City Royals of 1977. Just look at this heart of the order!

HTML Code:
Name AVG HITS RUNs RBIs 2Bs 3Bs HRs
George Brett 346 226 125 99 55 14 20
Eddie Murray 360 234 143 154 32 6 62 *By Draft
Rick Monday .286 185 87 134 27 8 36 *By Trade
Hal McRae .298 167 77 82 49 6 8
Eddie Murray had a awesome year as a rookie:

5 Times Player of the Week
5 Times Rookie of the Month
3 Times Batter of the Month
Named Rookie of the Year
Named Batter of the Year
Named 1977 MVP
Sellected to the 1977 All-Star Team
Hit for the Cycle Once

Even with this lineup, the Royals finished in 4th place with a 78-84 record.

Your pitching must be awful.

The Royals were 8th out of 12 teams in team ERA with a 5.04 mark. Yeah, pretty bad. I'm in my FA signing period and just signed 2 MR pitchers that had a 1977 season ERA under 4.00. Also, signed Gary Noland who had a ERA under 3.50 in "77".

Maybe 1978 will be the Royals year.

There seems to be far to many cycles in this game, although it's not like it is coded for a cycle every X at bats. Just seems to me there should be more cycles in real life when playing this game.

Murray had 47 HRs at the all-star break. Thank goodness he didn't hit 80 or 90 HRs. They may have opened up a investigation for steroid use.

Agreed, and same goes for 3HR games.

Eddie Murray and Rick Monday both had 3 HR games in 1977. That's just my team. I know I saw at least 3 or 4 other players from other teams hit 3 in a game. You may be right. I think it's just the quality of pitcher these guys are facing though.

You could easily fix that by lowering the amount of triples in the league totals screen in the game setup. Generally that's the hardest to get when trying for a cycle.

Triples are high in my historical simulation from 1901-1940, using the Arod/Garlon database. They're certainly high for Eddie Murray above.

Hi guys, sorry so late to this party.

I see some discussion here about the frequency of certain things, but I confess I'm not quite sure what the specific issue is that prompted this thread.

Can you please give me some more information?

Thanks!

Steve
