problems w database, game guide

Having major problems with the game. Downloaded the Lahman 5.3 database, but when I click on the .csv file to load an Historical league, I keep getting the error message: "Historical League failed to load!"

Also, downloaded the game guide, but can't unzip it - get message that there are no files to unzip.

Can someone help me? Is there tech support for this game, or is it just up to us to figure out on the message boards?

Thanks,
Rob

Not sure about your 1st problem. The zip of the game guide is corrupt. They will probably re-up it tomorrow. There is a ton of tech support for this game. The creater of the game posts on the board as well. You will probably hear back on your 1st issue by the morning somtime.

Thanks, CharlieHustle. I've been trying to get an answer on the database problem in the General Forum and the Historical Forum, but no dice so far. Someone PM'd me and said the part of the game that imports the database was broken and didn't know when it was going to be fixed...but it didn't sound like he was one of the tech support people, and other people responded and told me they had no problems using the historical databases. It's been frustrating...but not as frustrating as dealing with Gateway tech support is.

I've had no problems either, so it's definitely not broken - though I think I read on the main forum that the historical import on the Mac has a problem with the 5.3 database. If you're on a PC, what's the path to your database?

Thanks for your post...I'm on PC, and the path is c:\Sport Interactive\lahman53\lahman53.mdb

As you probably know, the OOTP game is in the SPort INteractive folder...

This is mine:

C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Lahman53\master.csv

I think that you may be using an access file and not a comma space delimited file.

Download this file

Delete the mdb file, and unzip the contents of this new download into the existing folder.

See if this helped.

I believe that Raidergoo nailed the issue - you must be using the .csv version of Lahman.

Could you please let us know if that resolved your issue?

Thanks!

Since we haven't been able to replicate this, and haven't gotten more information, I'm going to move this to closed/claimed fixed. Please feel free to post a new thread if any issue comes up!

Thanks,

Steve
