Mac Version 1.0.2 not working? - Page 3

ok, happy to report that a new install of the full version worked fine. i didnt even have to trash the old install (just renamed the folder and moved the esellerate key to the new data/config folder).

thx for everyones help

im hoping for the final patch release at the end of the month, either the patch itself will work fine or we can just be told to d/l the full version (updated to the new version) right away so we dont have to go thru this again.

Ok, well... I'm good to go now. Here is the synopsis:

Trashed all versions and re-downloaded them.
Installed the game file.
Installed the patch.
Launched... black screen!
Noticed OOTP folder from patch was in original OOTP folder.
Tried to move it... froze up!

Trashed them all again.
Re-installed new d/l of <b>game file only</b>.
Launched it... works and shows that the new full game file is the new version without installing the patch (?!?!?).

Ran game and it seems to be fine.

Notes: I've been told the Mac version doesn't need to be unlicensed. All you need to do is trash the files/folders and re-install. Still subject to the 2 computer install, somehow (at least I'm told).

I did not copy the e-license file to the new install and all I did was re-enter the serial number at start up and like I said, I'm good to go.

I'd suggest only installing the new d/l of the game file and not the patch if you can. Then launch it to see what version shows in the bottom left hand corner at start up.

Maybe thats of help for piperclap - try to make an textedit file (without any txt. extension i guess) containing the above mentioned text and your serial number and place it into the config-folder.

Meh, I just re-activated in game. It'll work out alright.

What link did you use for the download? The one I downloaded will not mount the disk image. If you could post the link you used I'd appreciate it.

I used the first Mac link near the bottom of this page... the *.dmg one, not the rapidshare one.

The mount issue is due to a corrupt file on the website, my bad and now fixed

The rapidshare link has always been the correct link

That's bizarre. It worked fine for me and I was one of the first to d/l it.

Heh. You know what? I just went and checked the file size of the patch I used and it's the 10 MB one! Yet, the game seems to work fine. I wonder if I should do a complete reinstall anyway. GAH! I guess I will. *SIGH*

patch for mac is about 10mb, the problem was the fuill setup file got corrupted too and that was on the site around 10mb too (hence some confusion)

You will be fine!
