For the love of man, please fix the scheduling in the game.

I won't post my complaints here because I have well over 20 pages of info you can read here;

I have done everything correctly and I spent over 4 hours setting up my fictional 36 MLB teams which included teams, rules, logos, park effects, ballpark factors, financials, ect. I love the game guys (so long as the AI gets a bit more under control) and I love the game presentation (UI, interface, ect) but the schedules in this game are unrealistic and it's hard to mod them as you can see from all the links I provided. I spent at least 6 hours last night alone trying to get this to work and about 10 hours combined in the previous nights. I'm about to call it quits.

When I first started messing with my schedules, I thought it was much more difficult than editing them in 6.5. However, I have since found that this new format is no more problematic.

One thing I did notice: on one of the pages I saw that you've set the schedules to be balanced, but the schedule you're trying to import is not a balanced schedule....

Can you post the actual schedule, so I can look at it?

Update:

After 16 hours of trying to get this to work I finally got it through the help of LeafsFan2005NC.

The problem was that you are supposed to put a "space" after the letter "c" in the naming convention.

For example;
major_league_baseball_ml_c_ 1940 (or whatever your comment is).

The way I was doing it was like this (which is the wrong way)
major_league_baseball_ml_c_1940 (notice no space beween the underscore (_) and 1940.

I want to thank
LeafsFan2005NC for his help.

Shouldn't matter, AFAICT...the game only seems to consider what the TYPE token in the file says, so you can happily describe an unbalanced schedule as balanced and get away with it.

I'm hoping someone can come up with something similar to the old stickware schedule generator. It wasn't perfect, but it's light years ahead of what the in game generator does.

You can still use the stickware, but it's a bit long and drawn out. Use stickware to create a sched for OOTP5, convert the league to OOTP6, export the sched then convert it with the utility for conversion.

Remember as well, the Conversion utility can change any of GMOs magical schedules into OOTP2006 schedules!

Kyros,

I'm sorry for the awfully slow response to this thread.

It seems you eventually got this working, for which I am happy. Much of the other stuff you have noted here, such as problems with the All Star game, have been logged in other threads. I know that the All Star problem is still giving us headaches, but we hope it will be fixed in the next patch.

For now, I'm going to move this over to the claim fixed forum.

Thanks very much,

Steve
