Problem with minor leagues
I'm running a historical sim using Arod/Garlan's db. When I choose the option for the AI to manage the minor leagues, it moves ALL my players that are not on the active roster to my AAA team. I then get an error that my AA team has an illegal number of players on it. I then move several players from AAA to AA manually, but still can't advance past the first day due to this ineligible error.
In past versions, the game used ghost players to fill roles. How do we fix this so we can play? PS: I continued a league from yesterday which worked fine. This could be a new "post patch" error.

Well, I've gotten past it with filling up all teams with fictional players but that kind of dilutes the teams with fake players when I want a historical league with "real" players.
(edit) Nope didn't work. Ran the "fill" option twice and no players are in my AA club still.

I'm getting the same thing happening... but I'm only playing Major League and AAA. Every so often I get a message saying that "Team X has an illegal amount of players" and I look to find that there are only like 5-6 players on the team.
I will the team with fictional players and make sure all the other minor teams are stocked, then I continue the sim and it happens again.... usually about once every 1-3 years. It's like the AI doesn't realize their team need to field a certain amount of players and makes mass cuts in the roster. The game itself, however, is running a lot better and is far more stable since I downloaded the patch. |

I have had this occur in every league I have played so far. This is a major bug and needs to be looked at immediately.

Can someone please confirm, if you start a new historical league in a patched version of the game, does this problem still persist?
Or are we seeing it now primarily related to games that were started in the previous version of the game? Thanks very much... Steve |

Im getting it, but the other way with a fictional league. In the Mexican Winter League, all the teams are trying to play with 26 players on a 25 man roster. I removed 1 player from all the rosters, then the next week there back to 26 players.

I have this problem, but I started the game pre-patch, and am continuing the game post-patch.
It might be a poor assumption, but I'm assuming that once I get to 2006 and have an amateur draft that has say, 50 rounds, this won't happen. Confirmation would be nice. |

Well, in a historical with ARods db, even with your draft set to 10 rounds (or whatever) it only goes as many rounds as rookies are in that class.

Sorry for the late follow-up on this one, but can anyone confirm whether this is still an issue in leagues started AFTER the patch?
If so, could you please give me specific details on how your league is configured? Sorry, these historical problems are very tricky to figure out. ![]() |

Has anyone figured this one out? For now, I cannot play. I filled the minors and it worked for one day, and now I'm getting errors again on AI controlled teams - "fort wayne has an illegal # of players" and cannot continue. All I want to do is play 1 game!!
Post patch. Arod23....database. |

The problem is the minors HAVE to have a certain number of players. Why can't ghost players, as in the past, take care of this? |

Trying to follow up on this one. A lot of changes to the AI roster moving have been made.
Could someone please give me specific steps to configure a league in which this problem occurs? Does anyone know, does this ONLY occur with Arod, or should it happen with Lahman as well? (Where does one get Arod/Garlon anyway?) Thanks! Steve |

We have a new rule that states that Tech Support threads wherein we have not received a response within 7 days will be closed.
This one meets this criteria, so I'm closing this. If you want to discuss it again, just PM me with the thread link, and I'll re-open. (Don't just say "Hey, reopen my thread." I need to know the URL, thanks!) Steve |
