New patch is poisonous to Macs

I saw this mentioned in General Discussions but don't know if it's been properly addressed yet:

I installed the 1.02 patch and now OOTP won't run. Just a black screen that stays black. And it's almost impossible to quit out of. Had to restart the whole machine.

If nothing else can someone tell me how to uninstall the patch so I can play again?

I would recommend this:

1. Uninstall the game (making copies of your custom/saved files first, including the e-sellerate file)
2. Download a fresh copy of the full game (not just the patch)
3. Install the new copy, and replace the e-sellerate file

Try it out.

Please let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Steve

I had the same black screen happen. I just did a full install and was good to go.

You can escape the black screen by doing a force quit on OOTP.

There should be a sticky about the mac update issue.

FWIW, I had no problems on my Mac.

I had no problems this time either. FWIW, I did have this happen once in a prior patch and it was because I had moved my OOTP folder from its original location prior to the patch.

Okay, reinstalled, and then reinstalled the patch and everything seems to be working fine.

Maybe I'd moved the folder to somewhere other than where it was installed. In that case, my fault.

Thanks!
