Available Jobs Issue
So I started a fictional league in 1900 and simmed ahead to 1940 and then created a General Manager. I've manually simmed through two season and I've yet to see a GM position listed in the Available Jobs section. I've seen plenty of minor league managers positions but that's been it.
Right now, it's October 24th, 1942 and three general managers have just gotten the axe. However, not a single one of those jobs is listed. How can I go about fixing this?

I am no expert, but I think you have to work your way up to the majors. I have found that if you play one season as a minor manager, regardless of your performance, you should get some offers the day the playoffs end.
It is also possible that you could accept a minor position before the end of the MLB playoffs and then get offered a MLB GM position after the playoffs, but I have never looked. You can also set yourself as commish and take a position that way. |

Noble's pretty much right. The less experience you have, or the worse your track record is, the less likely you are to be offered a job. This is especially true at the higher levels.
As noble also correctly stated, if this gets to aggravating for you, you can simply turn on Commissioner mode, making all jobs available. Hope this helps, and by I believe that some improvements for this model are planned for next year. |
