Pause after each Play
The function works great when checked, but you can't select anything when it's activiated, ie. the stats of a player.
You have to uncheck it, wait until the play is finished, before you can do anything. |

Could you give me some more detail about what, specifically, you are trying to do? |

We have a new rule that states that Tech Support threads wherein we have not received a response within 7 days will be closed.
This one meets this criteria, so I'm closing this. If you want to discuss it again, just PM me with the thread link, and I'll re-open. (Don't just say "Hey, reopen my thread." I need to know the URL, thanks!) Steve |

Reopened by request.
First thing: can you please confirm that this is still an issue in the most recent patch? (1.0.2.12260) Thanks! Steve |

Start a game, uncheck the button and let the game play and then try and select a player to look at his stats, you cannot., would be nice, if the game contiunued to play while you were looking at in-game stats with the Pause after each play button unchecked. |

cdcool,
I spoke with Markus about this. Unfortunately, there is not any way for the game to continue simming (in the "background") while you look at other information. The only other option at this point is to check the "pause after each play" checkbox whenever you wish to look up information. You're more than welcome to put this in as a suggestion for future versions, but this will not be changed in a patch to OOTPB 2006. Sorry I couldn't give better news. ![]() Thanks, Steve |

cd and Steve,
I've had trouble getting back to "Pause after each play" once I've deselected this option. Sometimes if I click inside the box while a game is in the early innings, I get lucky and the PbP will stop at a break between innings. But the longer I let "Pause after each play" go unchecked, the harder it seems to be to get the game to pause. I haven't had any success doing this from about the third inning on. Maybe it's just me, slow reaction time, bad timing, or whatever. Anyway, I've resigned myself to accepting the "just watch" mode for what it is--you can see the game unfold, but you can't do a thing about it, and you (usually) can't do anything else within the game until the game has played itself out. |

M's rule,
Are you on the Webcast or Broadcast screen? I've been totally unable to replicate that issue. Unchecking and checking the box always works fine for me, even in the late innings. Anyone else? |

Steve:
This whole thing might be a false alarm; if so, sorry. Very difficult to quantify, but here’s a dump from short-term memory after playing parts of a game. When I click to check the Pause box at the same time that a PbP message is scrolling onto the display, the check mark does not immediately appear. This I sort of understand, because the PbP text is still running, and of course that series of messages does not just stop. However, I do expect my Pause command to take effect between pitches, and when I click while viewing a still-running PbP message, this doesn’t happen. Between pitches, the PbP display is blanked, a little bit of processing takes place, then I see the defensive drop-down menus to the right display for an eyeblink or two, and then the display stays blank for another hunk of a second before the next play starts to scroll. If I click the Pause box between pitches, it seems to work only occasionally if I click before the flash of the drop-down menus, but it works pretty often (if not always) when I click after the menus have flashed but before the next PbP has begun. Clicking at precisely the right time (if that’s what is needed to get this command to register) isn’t all that difficult, but it’s nonetheless a little frustrating to issue the command (during PbP) and see it ignored. I guess I thought my click would be stored in a buffer somewhere, ready to be brought into play after the PbP finished. If the Pause toggle works only when you click between pitches and not during a PbP display, I can get used to that. If I’m hallucinating, I guess I can get used to that too. ![]() BTW, forget what I said about early vs. late innings. A bad observation from sketchy anecdotal evidence. Also, the screen doesn’t matter. I get the same results (or lack thereof) in either place, Broadcast or Webcast. |

That's a shame, would have been nice, I have no problems checking and unchecking the box, you just have to wait until the next set of play by play, before you can check stats ect. Another suggestion, why can't you show both the batter and pitcher in the SION Broadcast at the same time, instead of having a show pitcher/show batter button. |
