Box scores and game logs aren't being created

I don't know what to say. I've never had this problem before but no box scores or game logs are being generated when I sim the games.

Just to get the obvious out of the way, you do have the correct settings for "Save Boxscores from . . ." and "Save Game Logs from . . ." under Game, Game Setup, Global Setup? Note that there are various options in each setting under the "Human" category which if not set right may cause you to miss out on what you are looking for.

I thought it should work but I switched it to All Leagues to be sure - is there then any way to try and get it to create the boxscores that it didn't create before?

Taking an educated guess (knowing a bit about computer programming but nothing about OOTP scientific methods), I would say the answer is "no." The option is set so that, if on, boxscores will be generated while the program is doing its game simulation routine. If it's off, the program ignores boxscores while completing the days' games and then moves on to the next thing that you asked it to do in terms of simulation of statistics and results. It does not go back to reprocess prior games because you changed your mind, but will start saving boxscores from when you turn the option on, going forward. If anybody in authority at OOTP reads this and wishes to correct what I have said, kindly do so.

BTW, the game does not save boxscores from year to year; it overwrites them to save space. So if you have particular boxscores that you wish to save, you have to remember to save them elsewhere. Just thought I'd throw that in, seeing as boxscores are important to you apparently.

Actually, there is, but it is going to take you a little time.

Go to a team schedule or the league schedule and click on each games box scores/PbP and it should create them then.

Well, I dunno about that. I just tested it with a new game, boxscores off, simmed a few weeks, turned boxscores on, went back like you said and clicked the Box Scores link on completed games and got the following message every time. The html\box_scores folder was empty until I turned the option back on whereupon the game started making boxscores from that date forward. Maybe I'm missing something here, but I don't think so . . .

Ah, you are right. I was thinking of when you are playing a live game that it creates the box score on the fly.

My mistake.

No problem. I just wanted to make sure Tyking was getting the correct information. No sense building up his hopes.

Dola,

Actually, what you said, Comedian2004, prompted me to look further while I still had things set up. Once in a while you read in here about people who are surprised to see box scores and game logs in their html folders even though they have one or both options off. It turns out that you are absolutely correct about live games and on the fly. If you play any portion of a game out ("Manage"), even just starting it and then clicking ENTIRE GAME, you get a boxscore and a game log whether you want them or not, even if the settings are off. And you don't have to actually look at either during the game to generate them. On the other hand, if you "Quick-Play" the game or auto-play the schedule, you get neither if the settings are off. Thanks for helping me to clear up that one.
