Game crashes on start

Installed game.
Started it.
Licensing screen comes up.
I entered license.
It connected to server and approved license.

Tried to start game and got this message:

This program has performed a fatal error and will be shut down.

Here is the data for the error:

OOTP2007 caused an invalid page fault in
module <unknown> at 0000:00000000.

I am using Windows 98 SE with 256 MB RAM.

This setup worked GREAT with all previous versions of OOTP and Mark had said that the requirements had not been upped from previous version. (Except for FaceGen stuff... which I don't even care about...)

I would like to try to uninstall and re-install, but I am concerned about the license. Will I lose my license?

Follow-up:

I figured out how to unlicense it and did so.

I uninstalled everything. I had to manually remove some stuff as the uninstall did not remove everything.

I then downloaded from a different server, re-installed to the default settings (I had used a different directory in my original install), got my license, and the same exact problem occurs.

Could OOTP2007 be incompatible with Windows 98SE? Has anyone been able to run the program under 98SE?

Like I said, all the previous versions ran great on this computer under 98SE.

Is any tech person looking into this?

I am guessing that you guys expected the game to run under 98SE.

Would a tech person be kind enough to at least give me their opinion. (I won't hold you to it!) I just want to make sure that someone is attending to this issue.

Thanks.

This is posted in the 'closed or claimed fixed' section, so maybe they think it's already been fixed?
