Memory issues? -- Did I do something?
Everything was fine, then yesterday I decided to mess around with a huge feeder league--NCAA-esque in size. Anyway, it ran fine and all, but eventually after testing some, I decided to stop. Anyway, since then, every time I load OOTP, it takes several minutes for the main screen to load, which basically stalls my computer until it loads and even then, it takes several more minutes before everything runs smoothly. This was not an issue before I created that league and that league isn't even my default (or on my HD) anymore. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled...
The only things I've added or changed is my window size to widescreen and added deft's jersey templates to my jerseys folder. ("smoothly" is a relative term here too.) |

Early in beta testing, I ran into a similar problem. For some reason, after uninstalling and reinstalling, files are scattered in a variety of open spaces on your hard drive. It is especially bad if the remaining free space on your hard drive is less than 15 percent. Right click on the icon for your hard drive, usually C:, look at properties and see how much room is left on your drive.
Try defragging your hard drive, restart and then see if things speed up. I can't explain it, but it worked for me and I had to do this after almost every build in beta when I uninstalled and reinstalled the newer versions.

I had the same issue after installing Deft's Jerseys. I had to cut it down to about 100 and now it is running fine. I think for people like me with less power...500 is just too much.
Since I cut it down I have had no issues.

I have about 35% of my hard drive space remaining--so I don't know if that's the issue, but I'll try defragging.
I thought maybe the jerseys could have something to do with it, but my computer's processing power is pretty good. I'll try that, though. Thanks. |

LOL 500 jerseys
![]() They are loaded into RAM each time when you start the game. They're 512 x 512 pixel x 4 byte (RBG plus Alpha) = ~ 1 MB each, that's 500 MB for 500 jerseys. That will not only need some time to load them, but also slow down the whole computer. |
