3029 - Age limits

I decided to try to test out age limits in leagues that aren't feeder leagues. I set up a "youth league" that only allowed players 32 and under and an "age league" that only allowed players 32 and over. I simmed through one season to get any stragglers out of the system (figuring guys who weren't within age limits should get sorted out before the next season.

When I started the next year, I picked out players from each league at random. I didn't find any older players in the youth league, but I found two 28-year-olds in the age league, both of whom had played within the league in the previous year and stayed.

So I guess the way it works is that it will make older players leave, but it won't check to see if there are younger players it should make leave.

I did set up the age limits before the league was started, and players outside those age limits were apparently generated anyway.

Ok, the player creation limits problem has been noticed before and given a few TT's (736, 1228, 1646). The problem of there being players who are too young also already has a TT (738), but it's not quite in the same context, so I'll go ahead and create a new one.

TT #3029

I have a question,

When do leagues that have an age maximum start booting out the older players?

I imported my 2006 game and set my AA and A to have age maximums. I have simmed to opening day of my major league and I still see 30-somethings on my A-level teams

Do the AA and A level leagues need to be in full swing before the rosters get cleaned out?

I believe it's after the end of the season in which they hit the maximum age. So, if you have a maximum age of 33, and the player turns 33 during the season, he won't be out of the league until the off-season.

I'm not sure though how multi-year contracts affect this (i.e. a 32-year-old player signs a four-year deal)...
