AI still making lineup changes
I go to the game screen in manage mode and notice a player is tired. I am the general manager and tell the AI which player to replace the tired player with then go to the option screen and change all the decisions to the manger becuase I just want to watch what my changes will do. I hit start and the lineup changes to what the AI wants, In 2006 no changes were made unless I told the AI what the lineup is supposed to be. The only work around is to go to the game screen screen, change the lineup start the game go back to options and then change everything to the manger to control the game. This workaround is the only way to go. Setting the AI to make no changes does not seem to work either.

Question...Are you in Commish mode "acting as" a team? Orhave you actually been hired as the GM?

Targy,
Are you saying that this is a problem for you while playing out a game? Or are you talking about making changes in the Lineups/Depth Chart screens, and not in the in-game mode? Thanks! Steve |

Here is a play by play
1. Go the the games scheduled screen for that day 2. Click on the manage screen 3. Game goes to the setup screen for that day game where you can make lineup changes. so if a player is tired I can replace him 4. Go to the screen where it allows me at this time to make my manager in control of everything so I can watch the changes i made and see him mangae those changes, kinda like Stienbrenner telling Billy Martin what to do. martin then can't change anything or George might fire him 5.I then start the game and the tired player I just replaces is back in the line up...In 2006 this did not happen. 6.i do the same thing and before I change the reigns over to my manager I start the game and Voila!!! the lineups stay put...yeah. Then backl to the option page and change all the setting to my manger so he can make decisions with the lineup I present to him. At this point I do not mind the manger making changes. But he never changes my starting lineup. 7. I have all the depth changes at "Never" and he still makes changes. Which means that sometime I get Roy Campanella at leadoff 8. In 2006 if i went in and made lineup changes the manger would not interfear. 10. I am not in Commish mode and I want to mangage the linups I hope this helps

So judging from step 6, you've found a workaround to get your lineups to stick, correct? But then step 7 confuses me because step 6 says he never makes changes, while step 7 says he does.
One more question, in your "Manager Options" who controls Lineups/Depth and Pitching staff? I might be wrong here but I believe some of this is by design. If you set the AI manager as the person in charge of Lineups/Depth/Pitching staff, you are going to be overridden when trying to make changes before game time. Also, the game should be adhering to the lineups that are set in the main lineups/depth section of the game, even if one tries to make a change at game time, it may, and probably should, return to the main order. There is a heirarchy of control here, and it's figuring out which one is overruling you. Another thing to try, before we cry "BUG!" is to give your 7 day lineups a shot. See if on game day the lineups are adhering to your specified orders. This is best tested at the beginning of the season so fatigue and injuries won't be a factor.

targy didn't mention it being a "minor" league team. Sounds different and could very well be a bug. We just gotta make sure it's not something else.

Sorry I was confusing you, I worded it backwards....after step 6 I went back to my roster page and checked the depth page and I set all the setting to NEVER. and when I went back and played the game the manager was still making changes....I understand that it is by design but in OOTP2006 if the GM made changes the manager would not overide. I have the manager page set to myself making the changes so that the manger would not have a say-so...I do not like the 7 day lineup page I like just going from day to day...The workaround does make thing easier you just have to change the order of doing things as follows
1. Go to schedule page 2. Click on manage game 3. Go to In Game Page 4. Go to your teams lineup page 5. Make all the changes you need to 6. Start Game. no changes to your lineup will take place 7. Go to Options Page 8. Set all the options to you manager 9. Play the game 10. Manager will then make the decision from there I can make this work if it dows not change. But remember in 2006 Markus made it so no lineup changes would take place and this was by design 9.

targy, one of these may definitely be a bug and I'm thinking to log it separately. First, if you set depth to "never" and the AI still places this player in the starting lineup, this should not happen unless injuries force it to happen. Am I correct in my wording with this? and is this indeed what is happening?
Next, this part may or may not be a bug. You start a game, make some changes, then select the manager to take over from there and he changes your lineups, I presume, back to what you set in your roster page? I think this part is by design in 2007, possibly due to how Markus addressed all of the issues that 2006 had with lineup management. Now, to, in other words, "save your changes", you have to go to the game page before being allowed to give the reigns to the AI manager. My question from here is...Does the AI manager properly manage things from this point?

I have played about 25 games and now #2 has not happened again. Strange. #1 is still a problem though, if # 2 comes up again I will send the file

It doesn't look like TT# 2994 was really fixed in this patch. I am experiencing the same behavior as before the patch as well.
