Saving takes a long time

Is 2min 20 seconds normal for a save? I've selected save monthly but I'm going to unselect that. Exiting the game is the same.
I have 2 gig ram and the rest of my pc is plenty fast.
Just wondering if it's just me.

No sir it's not just you and personally i set it to auto save once per year. There's alot of info there to save, and depending on what is entailed in your league setup ie. almanacs, sub leagues, size of your universe, etc. it's going to take a few mins. to save, which is tolerable and expected.

What kind of league are you running? How many teams, sub leagues, do you save the almanac, etc.

I ran a league with no almanac, 30 MLB and 4 sub leagues, (AAA, AA, A, R) and the saves were pretty fast, 10-15 seconds. If you're running a lot more teams/leagues, and saving more information, then 1-2+ minute save times are probably to be expected.

It really depends on what kind of league you have set up (how many teams TOTAL in the league, including all minors/feeders), what options you have selected, whether you have Facegen on, ect. Smaller leagues with fewer options and no Facegen will save a lot faster then a large league with everything turned on. I know some of my leagues take a long time to save.

I still get random crashes with the patch, so I save weekly and copy my league into a backup league after I close the game. 2 minutes is about right. This is one thing I wish would improve, but since the sim time is much faster, it's still better than 2006.
