Strategy pull-down menus aren't persistent pitch after pitch

I apologize if this question has been asked before, but I couldn't really think of a good way to search for it. When playing a game and you can make offensive or defensive decisions like Guard Lines, Outfield In, Third Baseman In, etc., why does it keep resetting after every pitch? I end up having to switch to one-pitch mode if I'm making changes to both of those pulldown menus. It seems, at least the way I manage, that I'd want my settings to stay the way they are until the batter's done with his at bat or I choose to change strategy. Switching back to "Infield Normal" and "Outfield Normal" means I'm constantly fixing my guys.

I think I found out the answer to my own problem. I had my coach doing defense strategy. I set it to myself and the problem is solved. No wonder I didn't see any mentions of this in the manual!
