Long Manual Game Pauses
I'm GM'ing the Devil Rays in a 2007 real rosters (cubbyfan), real everything league. I'm about 130 games into the season, and I've noticed now that every time I play out a game manually, when I reach about the 4th inning on, the game slows down considerably. Whether I do pitch-by-pitch or quick play an at-bat, the time it takes to load the next batter takes almost 10 seconds.
Is this a memory problem? I wouldn't think it to be the case since I still have over 37.2 GB's available on my hard drive. Has anyone else come across this and found the solution? Thank you in advance for your help. This game is fantastic and even though i'm 59-78 in the AL East cellar, I have loved every minute of OOTP2007. |

I'm on a Mac, and I've noticed that everything in the game slows down gradually, the longer I play. Eventually, things get very slow, almost unplayable. Luckily, I've found a way to fix this- if I go to 'OOTP Preferences' in the Game menu, and click 'OK' (without changing anything), then I suddenly get back to full-speed. No idea why this helps, but maybe it will help you- hope so!
Note also- the 37 gigs you have on your hard drive is storage space, not memory- memory is space used temporarily by your computer for info that applications are using. OOTP can use a lot of it, so you might want to figure out how much you have. Other applications will also use memory that OOTP might want, so you should get better performance if you don't run anything alongside OOTP. |

Could very well be a memory issue, if not a hard-drive-space issue. What kind of processor and how much RAM do you have? (Right-click on My Computer --> click Properties to pull up this info.)

Or 'About This Mac' from the Apple menu, top left corner, if you're on a Mac.

I've got a Dell PC Latitude D600, processor 1.60 GHz, and as for RAM I'm pretty sure it's saying i have 512 MB of RAM....Good or bad?
As you can see, I'm as sharp as a marble when it comes to the inner-workings of my computer. |

512 Megs of RAM is low, especially on a Windows machine- Windows operating systems tend to need a lot of memory, especially Vista. I think OOTP recommends double what you have (1 Gig of RAM), so you might want to look into expanding your memory. Hopefully a PC expert can help you out (and correct me if I'm wrong!).

Which operating system are you using, Cats?
Do you have any other programs open when playing OOTP 2007? You might want to try and see how it runs with everything else closed. |

256MB RAM and 1GHz are the recommended minimums, and I would think that 512MB/1.6GHz would be sufficient (if not optimal). As Nutlaw suggests, please try running the game with everything else closed and let us know how it goes.
