Please Help!!!!
I downloaded OOTP, d/l patches, about 10 days ago and everything was fine and smooth sailing (even simmed 1901 to current day).
Now I have a game with no ability to load any of the 4 leagues I have in the saved games folder. I get a combination of errors (varies) when in the "100% finalizing" stage. 1) C++ Run Time Error - not sure what this means even after reading the stickies. 2) Windows - Virtual Memory Minimum too low "Your system is low on virtual memory. Windows is increasing the size of your virtual memory paging file. During this process, memory request for some applications may be denied, see help." This only started happening when I joined an online league that was still using 2006 (imported file and tryed to load) both had fatal errors when attempting to view rosters not on SION page. League then upgraded to 2007 friday--now I get the above error and none of my other league will work either. I am running Windows XP (SP2) on a Pentium 4 1.40GHZ system w/ 512MB of RAM and a 28.6GB NTFS hard drive with 4.75GB available. I have uninstalled OOTP and re-install and re-patched with no success. I want to play this game and be in online leagues; please help me if you need for info let me know |

You are barely meeting the minumum amount of recommended hard drive space as outlined by Microsoft (15% free space for stability). Have you defragged lately?
Also, the memory error could mean you have another program hogging system resources. Check your control panel to see what else is running and see if shutting something off (like Norton AV) allows you to start the game. You could also look into buying more memory as that certainly would help - not only with OOTP. It is the best and cheapest way to upgrade your PC. Try the other stuff first though.

I did defrag before the re-install and I run it with only AIM in the background but have tried it without any open processess.

Hmm, the virtual memory thing isn't really an error, or at least it shouldn't be...it just means that Windows is expanding its swap file. It does require sufficient diskspace - is your entire HD in one partition or do you have separate partitions e.g. for data and for the operating system/programs, and if the latter, what's the available space just on the OS partition?
